Author Instructions

1. Submission Checklist

Before submitting, please ensure that:

  • The manuscript fits the scope of the Proceedings of the Faculty of Security Studies.

  • The manuscript is prepared in Microsoft Word and follows the required formatting (template, if provided).

  • All authors have reviewed and approved the final version and agree with submission.

  • The submission is original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • All references and in-text citations are formatted consistently in APA Style (6th edition).

  • Figures and tables are properly numbered, titled, and cited in the text.

  • Any required ethical approvals, permissions, and conflict-of-interest disclosures are included.

2. Submission and Editorial Process

Manuscripts must be submitted via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • ensuring correct authorship and affiliations;

  • confirming that all authors approve the final manuscript;

  • submitting all required files and metadata (title, abstract, keywords, affiliations).

All submissions undergo an editorial screening (scope, structure, formatting, plagiarism check where applicable). Manuscripts may then be sent for peer review. The editorial decision is communicated through the OJS system.

3. Originality and Prior Publication

Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal or proceedings.

Submissions previously posted as preprints may be considered. Authors must disclose the existence of the preprint at submission and cite it appropriately in the final manuscript, where relevant.

4. Research Integrity and Ethics

Authors are expected to follow internationally recognized publication ethics and good research practices. Specifically:

  • All sources must be properly cited; plagiarism is not tolerated.

  • Research involving humans, sensitive data, or institutional approvals must comply with ethical standards and include a statement of ethical approval/informed consent where applicable.

  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

  • Use of copyrighted materials (figures, tables, images) requires permission and proper attribution.

5. Types of Contributions

The Proceedings accept the following types of contributions:

  • Research Article: original empirical or theoretical research.

  • Review Article: critical synthesis of existing literature.

  • Short Communication: brief report of preliminary results, methodological advances, or timely perspectives.

  • Conference Paper (if applicable): full paper submitted within the conference track and published in the Proceedings.

(If you will publish only full papers, we can remove “Short Communication” and “Conference Paper” or rename them according to your conference rules.)

6. Manuscript Length (Recommended)

  • Research Articles: 4,000–8,000 words (up to 10,000 with justification)

  • Review Articles: 5,000–8,000 words (longer considered if justified)
